The Kalam in us

There is something in life which is inevitable, which is the mighty death itself. All the talks of forever and immortalization sounds soothing but let’s face it, you can’t beat the death, can you.

Today we lost a people’s hero to this inevitable.

A.P.J Abdul Kalam

The name is enough to stir up the emotions. I never admired him that much and always wondered why people are so much into him. He’s no movie star, he knows no singing, he don’t bitch up controversies, he knows no politics, then  how did he stamped his authority over the hearts of people.

As a early teenager kid, the teacher used to ask us, what you want to become in life. The majority of the class would quote his name, and i would be like, him? He’s old, knows no humour, he’s blah blah blah(spreading negativity) and why him when you have a choice.

His A.P.J’s abbreviation was the sure shot question in every quiz that was conducted. “Why man, why you always do this to us, can’t you have a better and short name” the things, i used to murmur to myself.

I have never heard a speech by him, neither i have read any of his books, but by what people speak, they were all thought inspiring and especially motivates the students to go greater heights.

In one way or another he changed the life of many by inspiring them, by encouraging them and by motivating them.

He lead a simple life and that’s what kills me. A guy who could have been so much decides to live in the shadows, how could he be so human, when nobody around him is, there are people out there who cheats, who does all the bitching, who knows dirty politics, who has charges filed against them, whose hands are marked in blood  and still they are treated like a god figure and the most infuriating thing, they consider themselves god.

Then why didn’t he?

Humbleness and modesty can never be sold or purchased in the market, it’s something money can’t buy.

I didn’t admire him because he was being human at a time when human being don’t consider other human as a being.

I didn’t love him because he was no controversies favourite child.

He didn’t inspire me, because i never belonged here.

Dr.Kalam, you will always be in the heart and soul of people no matter what.

Death has taken just the physical you, your thoughts and your values will live with the people who loves you for no end of time.

Adieu

To the man, who is loved across the world for all the right reasons,

To the missile man of India,

To the people’s president of India,

To one the greatest orator the history has ever seen,

To the man himself
Avul Pakir Jainuladeen Abdul Kalam ….

May your heart rest in peace.

Abhay Rathore

  1. I can so relate to this!! I tried reading his India 2020 but it seemed redundant to me.. But it was just his simplicity that invoked so much of grief in my heart when I heard he’s no more.. RIP

This is a new perspective. When I started reading it, I was pained. I had seen many criticisms about APJ Abdul Kalam during the last 2 days and I thought they were all untimely. People have the right of opinion. But they should also know the right time to voice their opinions. But your post turned out to be something else.
And do you know what struck me after reading your post? He, did not belong here. 🙂

    अगर मैं सच बोलूंगा तो हुकुमत मार डालेगी।

    वरना लड़ाकर आपस में सियासत मार डालेगी।..
